Your files stay yours.

The image and PDF tools process selected files on your device. This page explains what happens while you use the current version of WORDMIO.

Selected images

Your selected image files are read in your browser’s memory to create previews, processed images and image-based PDFs. These tools do not send these files or their filenames to our server or a third-party processing service.

Files and results remain in the current page’s memory until you remove them, refresh the page or close it. The app does not save them in browser storage or maintain a file history. Files you download are saved wherever your browser normally saves downloads.

Metadata in exported images

Images are decoded and re-encoded by your browser. The original file’s metadata is not deliberately copied into the exported image. WORDMIO is not a certified metadata-removal or redaction tool; inspect files independently when you need to remove sensitive information.

Hosting and access

Loading the website sends ordinary connection information, such as your IP address and browser request details, to the hosting provider. The hosting platform may use necessary cookies or sign-in mechanisms to control access to a private preview. Local image processing does not prevent this ordinary website connection.

Advertising and analytics

This version does not include advertising code, visitor analytics or marketing cookies added by WORDMIO. If those services are introduced, this page and the applicable consent controls will be updated before they are enabled.

Your choices

Use “Clear all” to remove selected files and their processed results from the workspace. Closing or refreshing the page also clears them. To remove downloaded files, use your device’s file manager.

QR codes, writing and resume text

These tools process your text in the current browser tab. WORDMIO does not send it to a server or store a history. Downloads save only the result you choose. Closing the tab clears the text.

Image link downloads

When you request an image preview or open its source, your browser contacts the image host. That host receives the requested URL and ordinary connection information such as your IP address. Requests omit cookies and login credentials in the downloader. WORDMIO does not proxy or store the image.

Existing PDF documents

Merge, Split and Organize read your PDFs in this browser to copy the selected pages. PDF contents and filenames are not uploaded. Results stay in this page until removed or the page is closed. Downloaded PDFs may retain information contained in the copied pages; these tools are not redaction or metadata-removal tools.

Finance calculators

Finance inputs, budgets and estimates are calculated in the current browser tab. WORDMIO does not send these numbers to a server, connect to a bank or save them in browser storage. The currency selector only changes display labels. Downloads and printed copies contain the inputs and results you choose to keep.

Search shortcut preference

The homepage Keyboard options control can turn the slash search shortcut on or off. That choice is stored in your browser. If storage is unavailable, it lasts for the current page or offline session. Search remains available through the search field when the shortcut is off.

Display preference

Light mode is the default. The sun and moon button lets you choose dark or light mode. Only this display choice is saved in your browser. If storage is blocked, the choice lasts for the current page or offline session. Clear this site’s browser storage to reset the preference. Changing the theme does not change your files or exported content.

Recent tools and search

The search menu remembers up to six recently opened tools using their tool IDs in this browser. This list stays on your device and is not connected to an account. Choose “Clear recent tools” in the search menu or clear this site’s browser storage to remove it. When storage is unavailable, history may last only for the current page or offline session. Search suggestions are matched on your device. Search queries, filenames, file contents and calculator inputs are not saved in this history or sent to a search service.

Blog and product links

Blog articles are readable without an account. Opening an external product link connects you to the seller or affiliate network, which may receive ordinary connection information and use its own cookies. We do not currently add affiliate tracking scripts to these pages. Read our affiliate disclosure for how product links are labelled.

Contact and privacy questions

For the available contact channel, visit Contact & corrections. If you choose to email, your email provider and the receiving mailbox handle that message separately from the local tools. Do not attach private files unless necessary.
