Quick guide Steps, example & tips
  1. Step 1

    Choose your images.

  2. Step 2

Enter maximum width, height or both in pixels.

  3. Step 3

Process and check the displayed output dimensions before downloading.

Try this example

A 2,000 × 1,000 image fitted into a 1,000 × 1,000 box becomes 1,000 × 500. Its shape stays the same.

What should I check?

Small images are not enlarged. For an exact shape, use Crop & rotate first.

Good to know

WORDMIO fits each image inside your chosen width and height. It preserves the aspect ratio and does not enlarge small images. This tool does not crop or stretch images.

Up to 20 JPG, PNG or WebP images, 20 MB each. Read the image guide or explore all tools.

Change image dimensions without stretching

Choose a maximum width, height or both to fit images within a pixel limit. This is useful when a form or website specifies dimensions rather than just file size.

The complete picture stays in proportion. A landscape image fitted into a square limit remains landscape; use Crop and rotate image first when the final image needs a particular shape.

Free to use. No sign-up required.

How to use this tool

  1. Choose an image and enter a maximum width, height or both.
  2. Process to fit within that box while preserving proportions.
  3. Check the reported dimensions and download the result.

A practical example

A 1,200 × 800 image with a maximum width of 600 becomes 600 × 400. A 600 × 600 bounding box gives the same result; it does not make the image square.

Before you finish

Resize does not enlarge, crop or stretch. If you need an exact square, crop to a square first and resize that downloaded copy.

Frequently asked questions

What happens when I enter both width and height?

The image fits inside that bounding box while preserving its aspect ratio. One dimension can be smaller than the limit.

Can I make a small image larger?

This tool does not upscale small images. It reduces dimensions where necessary without inventing additional detail.

Is resizing the same as compression?

No. Resizing changes pixel dimensions; compression targets file size. Use Image studio when you need to combine both with format conversion.
